The community centre wanted to meet the needs of Weaverham village and started work on a project to make better use of the ground space. It was thought that an extension to the building would provide more room to provide larger social areas
The original project was thought of back in 2005 where a plan was drawn up. These plans were then submitted to planning for approval. We were so excited when we heard they had been passed.
During all this preperation time, we constantly searched for funding to start the project. Finally, in late 2008, we managed to secure the total funding.

Building work began on the extension in 2009.
